Our factory, Hopewell Footwear, is Located in the beautiful city of Durban on the East Coast of South Africa, the country's surfing capital. It is a 3rd generation, locally owned; the 4th generation is studying for a footwear degree in London and working in Italy to prepare him to take over the family business. Owner Mohammed says many of the employees have been with them for as long as he can remember
I was able to easily break them in. (Still in progress) but I love the way they look! I think I’ll get a lower cut ones next time. Top is the harder part to break in above the ankle.
I received a pair of your Charcoal Chukka boots for Christmas and I love them! However, they were a bit dark for our NH winter, so I was looking for a way to brighten them up. The blue laces are the perfect pop of color!
Thank you for your positive review, Karin. We are happy that you love your Charcoal Chukka and tha you also like the pop of color that the laces add.
If there is anything else we can do to make your experience with our products even better, please don't hesitate to let us know. We love hearing from our customers and getting feedback on how we can improve. Thanks again for choosing to shop with us!
Rarely do I put on a pair of shoes and it feels like it was made and designed especially for my foot. The moment I put my feet into these shoes I knew I had found my new favorite shoe. There's always a little "breaking them in" when it comes to new shoes, right? "My foot has to get used to it. It'll stretch, it's leather." NONE OF THAT with these. No rubbing in the wrong place, no blisters, nothing. I literally wore them everyday for a week straight with nothing but pure joy. Usually I can't wear any shoe for more than two days in a row - they just start hurting. Not the case with these.
Okay enough already with the glowing recommendation, here are some important notes to know:
For context, I've had my shoes about 6 weeks and typically I wear them a minimum of twice a week - often more times.
The suede is stiff at first - like real stiff. We all know suede is leather, but this actually feels like a leather shoe instead of a suede shoe. Most of the time I've gotten suede shoes it's almost like they feel a little pre-broken in. I'm not saying this is a problem, I like it. I was just a little surprised by it.
I also have a wide foot. If you're a narrow foot, just know that. These have a nice wide, rounded toebox - my tootsies had plenty-o-room to party.
I bought the Men's Heritage in red. Is it too much to have a pair of these in every color? I don't think so... that's how comfy they are.
They look great! Easy way to change the look of my boots! We’ll be buying more!
