Mossop leather is 175 years old and one of the oldest companies in South Africa. They take responsibility for every decision they make and pride themselves on their transparent supply chain. They are aware that everything they do impacts the world around us. Conscious of this result means they are actively involved in creating a more sustainable future in their leather production.
We use a reversible full-grain leather, lightly buffed on the inside that melts to your feet for supreme all-day comfort. It’s our secret sauce.

Each shoe is handcrafted in South Africa the traditional way. hand-cut, sewn, and finished using a buttery soft full-grain leather.
We use high-performance technical leather that repels water and are super easy to clean. These will be Your new all-day-everyday shoe.
Our factory, Hopewell Footwear, is Located in the beautiful city of Durban on the East Coast of South Africa, the country's surfing capital. It is a 3rd generation, locally owned; the 4th generation is studying for a footwear degree in London and working in Italy to prepare him to take over the family business. Owner Mohammed says many of the employees have been with them for as long as he can remember

I'm really impressed with the quality and value of these boots. I purchased them because it is so difficult to find shoes that are ethically made, especially for children, and they did not disappoint. I bought a pair for each of my children, 3 and 6 yo. There were no complaints about having to break them in. I will certainly purchase more in the future, after I pass these on to their second user (which I fully anticipate doing because these shoes are so sturdy). I only wish they also came in full grain leather because suede is difficult to keep clean, especially in wet falls and winter. And you know... they're kids.

Love these! I purchased for my nursing patient who has dwarfism. He wears a child size 2 shoe and requires a prosthetic support insert. These boots fit the bill! Very stylish for a 14 yo who wears a child size, and they accommodate his supportive orthotics. His friends are going gah-gah over the bright blue soles and it’s giving my patient a big confidence boost! I own three pair of Velds and I love them so much. So happy to pass on the love to a delightful fighting warrior kid who is now the best dressed.
I think they run a bit big but they are beautiful and look so nice on my 5 year old. Awesome quality!
