Full-grain leather Veldskoen shoes start out stiff but quickly stretch and soften. When you first try them on, they need to fit very tightly over the bridge of your foot. Within a few minutes of wear, they will stretch to fit comfortably. Wear them with socks the first 2-5 times to allow them to completely soften and take on the shape of your foot. Once worn in, Veldskoen can confidently be worn without socks. Our breathable leather is a natural deodorizer. 
Men choose M size and Women choose W sizing.

Fantastic comfort - once you get the right size

I’ve had the shoes for 1.5 months. I normally wear a Size 10 Mens and the instructions say to go down a half size. That’s a challenge since half-sizes are not available. I decided to go ahead and purchase the 10. Despite wearing socks, they were way too large. The return policy states that there is a $7 restocking fee. I really wanted these shoes, and wanted to try the 9. So I emailed Veldskoen and asked if they’d waive the return fee if I did an exchange for a Size 9 and kept the shoes. They were extremely accommodating and waived the restocking fee.

The Size 9 were a PERFECT fit for my normally Size 10 feet, so I kept them. Per instructions, I wore the shoes for a few days around the house with wool socks on (I’m perpetually cold). The shoes required little break-in (if any). I’ve worn the shoes walking around park trails and out-and-about town. They are EXTREMELY light and comfortable.

Since they are suede, I treated the shoes immediately during the “break-in period” with a water protection spray for suede/leather. I strongly recommend this for anyone that buys suede/leather. I plan to buy the green sole Springbok shoes!

Best damn shoes on the planet!

I have 7 pairs of Veldskoen shoes. I love the Heritage becasue I can walk for miles in them and my feet don’t get sore. I just spent a week in Paris and we walked 5-6 miles everyday and my feet held up better than if I was wearing tennis shoes. I LOVE these shoes. Well made, great style and comfortable! What more could you ask for?
