7 Streets in LA to wear your Veldskoen

Paint the streets of Los Angeles the colors of Veldskoen

Los Angeles is an incredible city. Most who live there would agree with me that it takes a long time to truly feel welcome, however, once you find your groove it will forever take a piece of your heart. From the valley to the beach and the 508 square miles that La covers there are some truly amazing streets and neighborhoods to visit and more than just the Hollywood hype to see, do and experience.

here are six streets to WALK in Los Angeles and which Veldskoen to walk them in.

  • Rodeo Drive

  • This famous street is two miles long, with the tail-end landing in Los Angeles. The blues skies and palm trees, that line the strip, ensures that Rodeo Drive is the PERFECT location to be seen wearing your blue J-bay Veldskoen. You’ll be dressed accordingly, seeing as the street is home to the Walk of Style – a collection of plaques in honor of award-winning fashion icons.

  • Mulholland Drive

  • Well-known for featuring in films and movies, this street forms part of the Western and more rural parts of Los Angeles. David Lynch, the director of the feature film Mulholland Drive, was said to have stated that “[he] could feel the history of Hollywood” on the street. Nothing screams history more than aged red wine – this why the Pinotage Veldskoen is fitting to wear when exploring this iconic street.

  • Hollywood Boulevard

  • A major east-west street in Los Angeles, which attracts tourists from all over the world. The street is home to the Hollywood Walk of Fame – where you can have your photograph taken next to your favorite ‘star’. There is no better way to channel your inner celeb than to strut down the walk of fame in your yellow Vilikazi Veldskoen.

  • Sunset Boulevard

  • A street that connects ‘urban’ Hollywood with the ‘upscale’ residential areas of Beverly Hills. The best-known feature, and the highlight of the street is the Sunset Strip – more than a mile of pure ‘sunset’ between Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Embrace the orange hues by sporting your orange Bloem Veldskoen, you’ll blend right in!

  • Melrose Avenue

  • Melrose Avenue is THE street to visit when you’re in the city and looking for the best dining and entertainment destinations. Located on the street, is arguably one of LA’s most famous landmarks; Paramount Studios – the fifth oldest film studio in the world that’s still standing. Put on your pink Uhambo Veldskoen and leave your very own mark on the landmark!

  • San Vicente Boulevard

  • Escape the hustle and bustle of the city life and take a walk down this whimsical street, deemed to be a historic monument. This beautiful stretch of greenery is lined with coral trees – a South African native tree known for its unique winding trunks.

Throw on your native South African green Lowveld Veldskoen and you’ll reflect the scenery! • Abbott Kinney Blvd

  • We left the best for last. Abbott Kinney voted the coolest street in America by GQ magazine Abbott Kinney is a must experience for anybody visiting the city of angels and one of my personal favorites and is where I first lived when moving to L.A in 2008, so it has a very special place in my heart. Abbott Kinney is situated in the heart of Venice beach and can be described as Sophistication and trendsetting with a laid back Venice vibe. Our favorite time of the month to visit Abbott Kinney is the first Friday of every month when the entire blvd is closed down for the night with food trucks, street artists and all the local businesses have art shows it’s a great night to meet locals and do a bit of star-spotting too.

Also once a year is the increasingly popular Abbott Kinney fest that is a one-day street festival that offers bands and beer tents and local business line the streets for an epic day of shopping and mingling, it really is a great day. Abbott Kinney also has some of the best local stores to find all sorts of awesome gear, It’s the perfect street to be seen in with your new Vellies that are also worn by Ashton Kutcher and Prince Harry is a huge fan and is often seen wearing his Vellies

Places to visit, make sure to drop into Intelligencia for an awesome coffee or for a more laid back vibe check out Toms coffee. For brunch, we recommend Gjilena (expensive but worth every bite) and for pizza go where the locals go and hit up Abbot's Pizza Company.

    Honorable Mention: Venice Beach Boardwalk

No trip to Venice is complete without a trip to the boardwalk from muscle beach to the skatepark the boardwalk is one of the best places in the world to people watch it is an interesting and fun experience. Don't forget the Venice Pier and our choice of coffee is the Cows End just located at the beginning of the pier. My favorite thing to do on the boardwalk is to visit some a few of the bars that The Doors used to play in when they lived in Venice and Skate through the streets where the Z-boys kickstarted modern skate culture.

Now that you know exactly where to go in your favorite pair of shoes – get walking and don’t forget to paint Los Angeles all six colors of Veldskoen, after all, you can’t just paint the town one color!
